I instructed Solicitors to act for me in my application to extend a lease on a property I owned in Wimbledon.
The solicitor who acted for me said the first thing I needed to do was appoint a Surveyor, I asked her to recommend one and she replied by saying I could obtain details of surveyors from the Leasehold Advisory Service but she could tell me of one she had many dealings with and she had found him to be very knowledgeable and cost effective.
I contacted Leasehold Valuations and they told me exactly how much it would cost for the valuation and the subsequent negotiations with the freeholders surveyor.

Having tried unsuccessfully to extend the lease of our flat, I realised the importance of using a surveyor who has experience and can calculate the cost for extending the lease by using the valuation formula in the Leasehold Reform Housing and Redevelopment Act 1993. I used the services of Leasehold Valuations over the last six months in relation to a lease extension on a flat in London.
